We are delighted to announce two upcoming events exploring the intersection of emotions and sustainability in July 2026! Below, you will find details for each event, listed in order of their submission deadlines.

We warmly encourage you to submit a proposal and/or share this announcement with colleagues and networks who may be interested.

Call for Papers | EGOS 2026 – Sub-theme 48 "Reframing the Lived Experience at Work: Emotion, Body, and Space as New Ways of Exploring Ethics, Responsibility & Sustainability" (July 9-11, 2026)
The European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS) was founded in November 1973. This scholarly association aims to further the theoretical and/or empirical advancement of knowledge about organizations, organizing and the contexts in which organizations operate. As a collective, one of its main aims is to maintain and provide a voice for the critical and analytical approaches of its members to the study of organization worldwide.

How do we feel work today - in our bodies, our spaces, and our shared experiences? As organizations increasingly rely on AI, hybrid work, and technoscientific innovations, the line between the human and the more-than-human world keeps blurring.
In Sub-theme 48 at EGOS 2026, we invite you to rethink the lived experience at work through the intertwined lenses of emotion, body, and space, and to explore how these dimensions can foster more ethical, responsible, and sustainable forms of organizing. We welcome conceptual, empirical, and methodological contributions that open new ways of understanding what it means to live, feel, and act within organizations today. Topics include: Emotional and bodily experiences in the age of AI and technoscience;organizational practices that value authenticity and lived experience; the role of body and emotion in ethical and sustainable action; spatiality, telework, and the reconfiguration of human connection; lived experience as a lens to revisit narratives, power, and methodology, etc.

Submission deadline: Wednesday, January 7, 2026, 12:00 CET

This connection will offer opportunities for continuity, dialogue, and community around emotions, embodiment, and sustainability.

Call for Papers | "Emotions and Sustainable Horizons" (Emonet XV), the 15th International Conference on Emotions and Organizational Life, will take place at IGR-IAE Rennes/CREM (France), July 6-8, 2026.

Since 1997, Emonet has been the international network for researchers studying emotions in organizational life, affiliated with the Academy of Management’s listserv. The Emonet biennial conference brings together researchers interested in studying emotions in organizational setting and gives them an agora to share cutting-edge insights and foster collaboration.

For 2026, we have a conference theme: Emotions and Sustainable Horizons. Authors are especially encouraged to submit contributions related to this theme. However, other contributions addressing the broader study of emotions at work are also welcome. Authors may submit theoretical and empirical papers on any topic of relevance to the study of emotions at work, including the determinants of emotion, the nature and description of emotion, as well as processes and effects of emotion at organizational, team, and individual levels.
